Today: The Victorious King

At that time, the Jews were desperate for their Messiah, the deliverer promised by God, to come and free them. Israel’s religious leaders of the day contained everyone through their application of God’s law and the Romans controlled everyone through their military mights.

Jesus was Israel’s Messiah, sent from God. He spoke in a different way to others, with authority and clarity. He miraculously healed and forgave sins. He glorified God and brought hope.

But He didn’t deliver them from the cruel Romans. Nor did He free people from harsh religious leaders. Or did He?

He was not deliverer in the way that people expected, but He did come to save all people from bondage.

Join us for our Morning Family Service today when we will look at Jesus as The Victorious King. The deliverance He brought about was through sacrifice, not fighting Rome. He defeated death and not the leaders. The question this week is “How?”

As in previous weeks, this is Easter viewed with the right perspective. No Easter bunnies or chocolate. Just Christ’s sacrifice and God’s power.

You’re welcome to join us at Bowmont Street at 11am (the cream-coloured building as you head out of Kelso) to hear more, or join the livestream at the same time online.
